Member Rules
The Elementary English Instructors' Certification Committee is a Specified Non-Profit Corporation (NPO) whose founding was certified by the Cabinet Office under the Law for the Promotion of Specified Non-Profit Activities (Law 1998-10), with international cooperation in education and the sound education of the children who are responsible for the world's future as its purposes. It carries out its activities without thought of profit, based on an "all for one, one for all" spirit. These rules were established in order to ensure that all members of the committee pursue cooperation and mutual assistance regardless of their relationship to the organization. As members, we will join forces to ensure the progress of our activities according to these rules.
The committee has also established a department that will carry out profit-making activities for the purpose of earning capital for its activities, and the funds for its activities will be derived from the profits gained from them along with the annual dues paid by members. Additionally, a board of directors with a two-year term of office has been established to serve as its highest decision-making organ, and a president who will serve as representative of the board of directors will be elected by the board of directors from among its members.
Section 1: Philosophy
Members of this committee recognize that a spirit of mutual cooperation is the foundation of an NPO's activity. Thus, the full members who are primarily responsible for carrying out this committee's activities will encourage each other in self-help and individual study, come together in mutual cooperation and harmony, and contribute to society through their activities.
Section 2: Activities
Through their activities, the members of this committee will contribute to education in Japan's schools and regions for the purpose of providing a sound education to the children who will make up its next generation. Full members will cooperate with educational research groups, etc. who are working to reform the current educational system in order to expand elementary English education.
Section 3: Duties
1. The members of this committee are responsible for the dues that are established and the support of its activities.
2. Full members will promote the material improvement of shared educational resources by supplying their educational resources to other full members at a fair cost rather than monopolizing them, and actively making use of the educational resources developed by other full members.
Section 4: Rights
1. Full members have the right to vote at general meetings and the right to directly submit matters for the consideration of the board of directors.
2. Full members have the right to make use of the committee's educational resources and information with the permission of the board of directors.
3. Full members have joint ownership of all information pertaining to educational resources developed by the committee.
Section 5: Support Activities
In addition to their individual activities in support of the world's children, the members of this committee are to appeal to other members through the committee in order to actively widen the circle of support activities.
